Board mounting

Post by pulpwood »

I would like to mount my EnvisaLink3 board in an axillary box. This would require that the 4 conductor cable to the DSC main board be about 30" in length. Any problem with this.

thanks

great, thanks for the info. Just out of curiosity, why is yours so far from the panel?

It was easier and cheaper for me to bring the EVL3 close to the router (i.e pull a small 4 conductors cable rather than an ethernet one).
It also groups all the LAN/WAN flashing leds together.

By the way, my DSC installation manual states : " All modules connect to the system via a four wire Keybus up to 1000’/305m from main panel " . So 30" or 50' are well within limit.
