Time stamp now off by three hours

Post by dcuste »

I haven't changed any of my settings, and everything was work as it should on March 7th. On March 8th, Pacific time moved ahead 1 hour due to the start of Daylight savings. But ever since then the event times eyez-on reports via SMS is 3 hours ahead of PST. It is as if the Eyez-on people think daylight savings spring forward was for 4 hours rather than 1 hour.

Agreed.. Big time SNAFU in the daylight savings time implementation. Central Time "Spring Forward" 2 hours instead of 1

Looks like the problem was that my account profile showed me in the Eastern time zone. I have no way to tell if that was my error or something else happened. I doubt it was my error since I didn't have this problem in the past. I've changed the account setting and I'll wait to see if the auto time update fixes it in the next day or so.

I'm having the issue as well. I'm in central time zone. I was an hour ahead. I went into my profile and my timezone had somehow been changed. I reset it back to central time however now I'm an hour behind. Haven't had an issue before with DST changes they have always changed properly.
I opened a support ticket. I'll post back when I get a reply.

What is "it".

All our data is recorded in standard UNIX time referenced to GMT. When you change your timezone within the portal all the presented timestamps reflect your select timezone.

If you are referring to automatic update of your panel time, please be aware that these updates happen at 03:00 in your local time each day.

@GrandWizard,

I've not had a problem in the two years with my 2DS keeping the correct time for my panel, however for reasons which you guys haven't explained yet, first this week I found it was 3 hours off (in front of PST)... which I presume might be to do with something you guys changed on your end, since in the portal my time zone was set to EST?

I corrected this before 3AM last night, and this morning it was then showing that its an hour behind what is currently PST, and what would've been correct before day light savings kicked in on the 9th.

So it did update overnight, but its still incorrect and went from being 3 hours in front of PST, to 1 hour behind.

I'm obviously not alone with this problem of being initially at least 3 hours in front, since the others reported it too.

All I can say is that I'm glad I don't have any auto arming schedules set up :)

The one hour behind is because you set your timezone to PST when we're in daylight savings time now. You need to select PDT.

The other issue you mentioned is under investigation.
