Any ideas on why I cannot get local access to the 2DS?
Brand new system everything hooked up, all the status LEDs are functioning correctly.
I have reset my router and switches, but still get nothing when I type in "envisalink"
Do you have any ideas on what I should try next?
I don't know what IP address to use since it's assigned dynamically.

Ok, I found the MAC address on the sticker on the main chip.
Then used that address to locate the IP address on those registered by my router.
typed it in and up came the login screen.
Not sure why the "Envisalink" didn't work.

Re: I can't get local access
What's your firmware version? Anyone with version 1.0.17 might have the "envisalink" vs "envisalinke" bug. A batch of old units with version x17 firmware had their name incorrectly listed as "envisalinke". This was fixed in all subsequent versions. If you've properly registered your account with Eyez-on then your firmware will be kept up-to-date automatically.
Also, we've had quite a few reports that people with macs can't access their Envisalink using its netbios name (http://envisalink) on safari. If you are a mac user you may have to access the module using its IP address which you can find in your DHCP table.

Re: I can't get local access
Hey thanks for the reply.
Not sure why the "envisalink" would not work and the address did, but now "envisalink" is working. I am using a PC and am registered. It's like I had to kick it in the head using the address and now it can be accessed eaither way. ?? You could be right that once it hooked up it got updated.
Now I'm off to figure out this mobile web page....

Re: I can't get local access
Hi iv read the posts here and and to no luck still cant get local access to the Envisalink 2ds that i just recently purchased.
I do have regular internet access not a problem on any pc iv tried.
but wen ever i try to do the local it comes up with a "search response" as in web page not found and goes to google or watev the web search choice is at the time an normal lists of web sites found
the ver is shown as 47, i did try both the suggested old and new Envisalink name log on but same result as web page goes to the search of choice and shows listing of searched web pages
I am using Mozilla Firefox but also tried it on IE and got same result
any suggestions?
forgot to add ...if i look up my local address on router for the 2DS and log on using that instead no problem "192.168.----" etc but just to use the "name" dose not work no matter how i try?

Re: I can't get local access
I am having a similar problem.
All systems working fine. I can use the mobile browser link, but can not access local via envisalink in web browser . Using a Mac with safari so might be the issue....

Bernie, I'm using a Mac with Safari and it works great. You need to lookup the local I/P address of the 2DS in your router DHCP table and use the I/P address instead of the name in Safari. If you don't know how to resolve the I/P address I know I saw it covered in the forum so I won't go into that.

Re: I can't get local access
Thanks but it seems on a Mac with the new AirPort Utility software Airport Admin Utility doesn't provide a DHCP Clients Table! And using comand line terminal is beyond my pay grade.
I guess I really don't need local access if I have mobile access but oh well.
