EV3 Not Communicating

Post by SuperC188 »

I have installed my new EV3 to my DSC PC1616 and it will not communicate through my belkin router. If I connect it directly to my cable modem it works perfectly. What could be my issue with this?
The cable modem is in bridged mode and my router is assigning all ip adresses (DHCP). The EV3 has an ip addressed assigned to it and all lights indicate everything is working, but no messages are benig recieved and it does not respond to any pings when plugged into the router. I can ping all other devices on the network except the EV3.
If i unplug it and plug it directly into the modem it works great, but then the rest of my network shuts down. What gives? :x

Your router is firewalling the Envisalink. We see it all the time in tech support.

Try lowering your router's firewall security level or turning it off completely.

I have turned the firewall off and also sent the IP address for the EV3 to the DMZ, and no dice, still won't communicate. All other devices work fine though.

Anyone else experience anything like this?

Problem solved, envisalink3 only communicates at 10Mbps, not 100Mbps, had to use an old router that would switch automatically to 10Mbps.
