I installed this out at a vacation property a couple of months ago. So far so good. I get an email and a text message when I arm/disarm the system. It looks like this. Is there a way to get a single message only? What exactly is 'special closing'?
Special Closing
Away Arm Mode
Early this morning I got 3 messages, in this order:
Zone 1 Alarm
Zone 1 Alarm Restoral
Swinger Shutdown
I take this to mean that the alarm triggered from zone 1. Did it then time out and shut down the siren or something? Do I need to do something special now?
BTW, it was really windy last night and I think the wind just blew the door open enough to separate the sensor a little bit.
Thanks,
Warren

Re: Help me understand these alerts
All of these questions are answered in your DSC installer manual but I will try and help you out.
1) When you close without a code DSC will send you two events, one that it was closed by a "Special" way, and the second tells you the mode that it was closed in. Special closing generally means you pressed one of the quick-arming buttons on your keyad instead of arming with a code
2) Zone 1 Alarm means the zone was violated, Zone 1 Alarm Restore means the zone was restored (closed). Swinger Shutdown means you have a "swinger", a zone that is flapping in the wind so it is not going to report this anymore as it is just filling up the log. This state restores after some time or when the system is disarmed.
If you haven't disarmed you system you panel has just gone back to ARMED but will have the ALARM IN MEMORY flag set. Your siren goes off after your BTO (Bell Time Out) which I think defaults to 10 minutes.

Yeah. Sorry. I left the manual out there.
Thanks very much for your explanations. All is clear.
