Hello, new user, subscribed to Envisalink monitoring (Consolidated), everything working great, except that I can't find anywhere a description of what MANAGE DEVICE > "Network Supervision" checkbox actually accomplishes (EVL3 FW135).
I find plenty of "supervision fault" references in the forum, but nothing that describes this humble checkbox.
I figure it does one of a few things: enables/disables the "heartbeat" so that if there are frequent faults, there is no notification; or simply disables these notifications (even if the heartbeat goes on); or maybe it disables any alarm being transmitted to Consolidated Monitoring.
Can anyone shed any light? I unchecked it, but it appears that the system is still transmitting info (zone changes are still showing up), I'd rather not do either of the other two options (disconnect the internet connection or trigger an alarm).
Thanks in advance.
What does the "Network Supervision" checkbox do? (EVL3)

It enables whether you want to receive notifications about Network Supervisory outages.

OK thanks.
I did get a reply from customer service too.
For consideration: It would be nice to have the option of placing the system in temporary NO ACTION mode for testing or work purposes. Other vendors (including AlarmNet) have this as part of their portal and app. I see references to something that might be similar from other vendors using CML, so this may be something they offer.
Thanks again.
Edit: I see someone has already added this to the feature request thread. Back in June, and maybe before that.

Re: What does the "Network Supervision" checkbox do? (EVL3)
For the record (for those following along), this was the detailed reply on the Network Supervision checkbox:
"Network Supervision enables the module to report status to our servers every 10 minutes and if you have checked Network Supervision alerts in your Manage contacts section, then should the network or internet fail, you will get and email/text alert. Without this option selected in Manage Device, then the check-in will not happen and should the Module loose connectivity with the servers, it will not be detected."
So there you go.
