Window stickers and yard sign

Post by hokie21 »

After I signed up for Envisalarms service I never received window stickers or a yard sign. Does Eyez-on provide these for free on request? How to you request them?

You must request them and they charge you for them. They charged me $22.49 US last year. Fees are based on CANADIAN dollars and converted to USD.

Really? Seems very pricey for few stickers and a plastic sign. My previous service provider was glad to send them for free when you signed up for new service.

They are free, that is just shipping charges for those who request overnight.

A much more reasonable policy. Thanks for the clarification.

For the record, I requested both stickers and a sign and was told today:

"The lawn sign comes with a aluminum pole so it is a little bit big. We would have to charge for the shipping. It will be for UPS and will cost around $30.00, please let me know."

Since a lawn sign with an aluminum pole sounds a bit gaudier than I envisaged, I asked them to just send the stickers. But it appears that the charge is real, regardless of the shipping method (I specified dropping both in the post, indicating there was no urgency).

I suppose that is one of the issues one might expect when crossing the US/CA divide (shipping that is)!

Maybe you could get the aluminum pole locally to save the shipping charge and just have them send the sign and the stickers. I'm changing providers so I already have the aluminum pole.

I just called the admin assistant for Envisalarms and she insists there is no charge for the stickers or sign+pole, it is a flat $25 (Canadian) for UPS shipping. She also pointed out the shipping cost is mainly driven by the pole that is roughly 3' long, but weighs only 100g.

I did ask if there was a "no pole" option and they said they are considering it, but couldn't point to a common place to buy it.

I looked at my lawn sign and the "pole" is a 1cm by 1cm aluminum extrusion. You should be able to buy this at home improvement store.

Yeah, it's really no biggie, I'll try to affix stickers on the mailbox instead of the sign. And the contact did point out that we are all getting a discount on the monitoring, so something's got to give (in this case free shipping of a metre-long pole).

Other than my wish to have a "no action" in the account area to temporarily suspend alarm response without having to call CS, I'm feeling like I've got quite the deal... very happy.
