Missing Recent Activity

Post by pendetim »

I did a quick search and did not see much on this so here goes:

I have a door that I am "following" with SMS, Zone 1 (Kitchen)

I went out the door at, lets say, 15:00:00 and the door closed behind me. One Text message, immediately informed the Zone 1 was "open" Great!!
The door closed behind me a few seconds later. No Text

I came back in at (15:06:55) 7 minutes later, No text
The door closed behind me a few seconds later ( 15:07:00 ), then text was sent "Zone 1 Closed".

When I went to the "Recent Activities" on WWW.eyez-on.com the only thing showing was the Open at 15:00 and the Closing at 15:07.

So what happened to the Closing report from 15:00:05 and the Opening report from 15:06:55

I get the same results using "following" a zone. Currently my back door was opened and closed about 20 minutes ago. Event log shows last reported event as door Open yet Zone status shows correctly door closed.

I tested it. I got one text for initial door open but not the text for closing the door and then opening and closing it 10 minutes later.

Recent events show:
2015-01-26 17:38:00 - Rear Glass doors Open
2015-01-26 17:37:39 - Rear Glass doors Closed

Zone status shows as of Last Update: January 26, 2015, 6:10 pm
Zone : 7 - Rear Glass doors: - CLOSED : 21 Minutes Ago

Tried an experiment with a single open/close event.

I opened the door on zone 1 and got an immediate text with the correct date/time stamp. Let the door close after 30 seconds and about 5 minutes later I got a text saying zone 1 door was closed. The date/time stamp also was showing a time 5 minutes after the door had actually closed.

Pendleton,

I just did the exact same sequence and had the same result as you.

Opened a followed door zone and received a text within 15 seconds that the door was open.

I waited 30 seconds then closed the door. About 4-5 minutes after the door was closed, I finally received text that door had closed. Time stamp for the door close was 5 minutes after it was open even though there was only 30 seconds between open and closed.

It appears that there may be an intentional 5 minute delay when sending texts for follower events, so that the eyezon email/text server doesn't get overwhelmed.

Perhaps an admin can confirm.

Maybe you should read the Envisalink FAQ? It is all covered there.

Thanks for the tip.. I did finally find that FAQ on the forums site. Silly me, :!: I was looking on the main EYEZ-ON page FAQ's under support Monitoring Primer and FAQs.

Any way these FAQs could be linked?

I thought it was. I will ask for it to be linked to the main support page.

Thanks,,,, It took a while to find the FAQ's but low and behold, the answer was there. :)

While I was at it I read every all FAQs. Now if I only will remember everything I read I'll be fine.

BTW, I've stated this before on multiple forums, but EVL-3 is one of the best values out there for alarm systems.
