How-to for arming "Away" remotely if code required

Post by Justintime2 »

Thought I'd share a solution I came up with for arming away via the mobile interface for those who have their DSC alarm programmed to require a code to arm (section [15] option [4] off), some program their system this way to see which user is arming and when, also to ensure only valid users can use the alarm. Since the code required to arm option will always arm stay regardless of what button is pushed on the panel (or what option is selected in the Eyez-On mobile interface) if it doesn't see a delay 1 or 2 zone triggered during the exit delay period, it's impossible to remotely arm away without the solution below. I'm not going to get into the weeds on all the programming steps because if you're going to attempt this you should already know how to do what I'm going to write anyway, lol!

The basic concept is setting up one of the programable outputs to momentarily trip a hardwired delay zone that has been programmed for only that purpose. For this example the hardwire zone is #8, the programmable output is #1 and the command output is #4 on a single partition DSC PC1832. To do this you need the following available:
1. One un-used programmable output (PRG's from an output expander work as well)
2. One un-used hardwire zone (Hardwire zones from an expander module work as well)
3. One un-tasked Command Output (1-4 take your pick)

The hardwired zone should be set-up as follows:
Zone Definitions:
[001] Zone 08 is set to 22
Zone Attributes:
[108] 1=off 2=on 3=off 4=on 5=on 6-9=off 14=off 15=on 16=off
Partition Zone Assignment:
[202] Zone 8 is turned on

The programmable output should be set-up as follows:
Output Programming:
[009] PGM 1 is set to 22
System Timers:
[170] 001
Programmable Output Attributes:
[501] 22 with the defaults of 3=Y 4=Y 5=N left on

Wiring:
-Connect a jumper wire between the PGM 1 and Zone 8 terminals, this will trigger the zone when the command output is toggled.
-Connect a single zone EOL resistor (5600ohm-green-blue-red-gold color bands) between Zone 8 and one of the adjacent "Com" terminals, this creates a normally closed loop with the proper resistance for the alarm so there are no trouble lights or open zone indicators.

Now if everything's been programmed and wired correctly simply arm your system from the Eyez-On mobile interface with one of the "Arm/Disarm" buttons, then hit the "Back" button in the next screen, select "4" in the "PGM" box and press the "Toggle PGM" button. This will trip the delay zone we programmed while the exit countdown is happening and show the system that you exited arming it in away mode!
Enjoy!

There is an other solution that does not require anything special. Everyone can use this!

First enter your pin code and click on "Arm/Disarm".
Wait for your exit delay and refresh the page. The status will be "Stay Armed". If you still have "Exit Delay" wait a little bit longer and refresh you should now have "Stay Armed".

Now to switch from "Stay Armed" to "Away Armed"
Go to ZONE and input "1" (no quote) and click on "Bypass".

This will not bypass zone 01. If you want to bypass zone 01 you need to input "01". When your DSC panel receive Bypass 1 it will switch from "Stay Armed" to "Away Armed" in about 30-60 seconds.
This can also be done from the keypad with *1 if your are home.

If successful you will also have in Recent Events something like:
Reactivating Home Away Znes - Partition 1
