Your Device Is Not Communicating With Our Servers

Post by Lorob1 »

Hello, after switching routers (maybe a coincidence) the web portal now reports: "Your Device Is Not Communicating With Our Servers"
I am using an ATT 7550 DSL modem (Netgear is the OEM). I used the same router until three months ago with no problems; switched to another Netgear router, again with no problems, and have no switched back to the 7550. My router sees the device, correctly ID MAC, and reports it as active.
The log reports network supervision fault on May 16.
All LED lights on the panel are normal:
KeyB Green – Solid
Oper Red - Flashing
Act Red - Flashing
Link Green - On
I attempted to “activate new device” but system reports its already registered.
My router and IP activity on all other network devices are normal.

Any quick troubleshooting advice will be hugely appreciated.

Just an update, I accessed the device via its IP setting, and clicked reboot. System seems to have reactivated. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Can anyone explain?

Try another search of the forums. There have been reports of certain routers/firmware versions that do not properly renew IP address of the EVL and therefore drop any communication. Depending on the expiration and renewals, you could go up to 24 hours in this condition.

Rebooting would address this issue because the EVL would pull a new address that the router would recognize.

It might be helpful to describe your network topography in a bit more detail for others to comment upon.

Good luck.
