EVL-3 Device Failed

So far I have had two envisalink 3 modules fail on me. The second one just failed today.

I have a DSC 1832 panel. The keypad showed a "gen sys supv" fault and when I went to check the EVL-3 there were no lights active on it. Down at the corner below the keypad bus connector where there appears to be a voltage regulator or something, the board is very hot. This is the precise failure mode that I had observed on the first failed unit that I replaced a month ago perhaps.

Has anyone experienced a failure similar to these that I have had?

I recently had mine fail (approximately 2 weeks ago). I just replaced it with a new one today and noticed this post.

Mine has been installed for approximately a year in a Vista 20P.

It was extremely hot and no lights. Upon disconnect and reconnect it would light up but no longer communicate.
