Keypad Addresses

Post by astembridge »

Hopefully a quick and easy question.

I have a Vista 15p in my house, where the Envisalink 3 is installed. I'm able to pull up the local web portal (and have also activated my account at eyez-on).

Question #1 deals with Keypad Addresses.
The default address shown on the local web page is 18. 16 is the default keypad (and the only other keypad in my house). Does the EL3 know there is a Keypad Address 17 in use? Could I assign a Keypad Address of 99 to ensure there aren't any conflicts?

Question #2.
I also have a Vista 20p installed in my detached garage. It was set up years ago by an installer I don't have contact with anymore. The two Vista panels are attached; if the garage alarm goes off, it sends an alarm signal to the monitoring company (whether or not the house alarm is on). I'm not sure how the garage is connected to the house exactly. Would I need a second Envisalink set up in the Vista 20p panel, or would I potentially be able to see the garage system through my existing interface?

The Envisalink uses 18 be default because most people don't have more than 2 keypads so 18 is usually free.

You cannot have an address of 99. Honeywell reserves addressess 16 to 23 for ECP Keypads. Those are your only address.

As for your garage question, if you have a separate Vista panel in your garage then yes, you will need two Envisalinks. If the installer had simply made it a partition, then you would have been able to use just one module.
