I guess much of this depends on your reliability of your broadband provider, but wondering if anyone can share their experience with using the EVL-3 and EnvisAlarm for monitoring? I am also trying to find out if the UL monitoring is licensed in Oklahoma. Our city requires an Alarm Permit. I am considering dropping the landliine and going with this solution exclusively. I am on Cox which seems to be pretty stable.
Thanks

Re: EVL-3 satisfaction with EnvisAlarm
I subscribed to Envisalarm central station monitoring for about a year and was satisfied with alarm response. They provided alarm certificate for Homeowners Insurance discount. They are ULC (Canadian UL) certified and monitor US states also.OldDawg wrote:I guess much of this depends on your reliability of your broadband provider, but wondering if anyone can share their experience with using the EVL-3 and EnvisAlarm for monitoring? I was not comfortable with IP monitoring as sole communicator because reliability and loss of power would kill IP. I decided to go cellular. I
I cancelled Envisalarm but kept the EVL3 connected with free Envisalink service as backup. I went with Alarm Relay with a cellular communicator. GSM signal (AT&T) is horrible at our home so Honeywell communicators did not work. I purchased a CDMA (Verizon service) IpDatatel CBAT directly from Alarm Relay for I think $169. Alarm Relay's Cellular and IP monitoring with interactive is $15.95/mo plus one time $35 programming charge. I'm very impressed with Alarm Relay's support.
