Envisalink 3 No alarm alerts

Post by Mr Roboto »

Please help me solve this issue. I installed the module in my Vista 20p panel and after a few hiccups I can now program using the web interface. I get alerts (along with my monitoring company) for everything (Door openings etc.) except for the most important one- the alarm was triggered event!!
I did numerous tests with the alarm monitoring company, they never receive an alarm trip alert ( nor do I).
The programming thru the panel seemed to go OK except for the instruction to set field *48 to 77 as I could only seemingly set it to 7, don't know if that is a problem.
Thanks in advance for any help.

In all cases it is one of two things.

1 - You most likely didn't let the siren run long enough to actually register an alarm. On Honeywell systems this is at least 30 seconds. And/or you didn't let the system settle after arming. On Honeywell systems this is at least 30 seconds again. In the latter case you would see an EXIT FAULT on your system.

2 - Honeywell has things called "reporting codes" which are associated with each zone. Depending on the vintage of your panel they may default to zero. A zone with a zero reporting code will never generate an alarm. So don't do that.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did let the system run it's course time wise even though in the past when I would accidentally trigger the alarm for only a couple of seconds our alarm company would be alerted.
How do I check that all these "reporting codes" are enabled ?

Dig out your Vista programming manual and look at interactive section *56. That is where you do all of your zone programming. One of the fields is called report codes. Newer panels have these as 10, older (+10 years) default to 0.
