Alarm triggered but no text/sms sent, event log incorrect

Post by nutshellml »

Evening all. I have the EVL4 hooked up properly to my Honeywell Vista 20p panel. I triggered the alarm today, then disarmed it via mobile portal (approximately 1min after alarm went off) and there were no SMS text messages delivered. The Event screen on my EYEZON page also does not annotate an alarm was triggered just normal OPENING and AWAY ARMING. Any suggestions ? ? :?:

What do you have *50 (Burglar Dial Delay) set at. Default is "2" which creates a 30 second delay. Set it to "0" for no delay.

Also did you enter a report code other than "0, in *56 for each zone?

I set *50 to 0, it's possible that from time to going off to disarm was less than 30 seconds, which would, if it was set as 2, not send an alarm alert correct? (Off question - what happens what I set that to 0 and have monitoring service activated? - is that basically the time the alarm needs to be going off before it sends an alert to monitoring company? What's the difference between that and entry delay.

As for the Report Code, each zone is set as follows: 1st 01 2nd 00 10

*50 delays sending an alarm event- to Central Station and/or SMS text via Envisalink. If *50 was set to "2" that gives you 30 seconds from the time the alarm sounds before the alarm event is transmitted. If you disarm within that 30 seconds while the sirens are sounding the alarm event will not be transmitted.

Setting *50 to "0" transmits the alarm event immediately at an alarm event.

If you have entry delay set to 30 seconds and *50 also set to 30 seconds, if a burglar breaks in through your front door there would be 60 seconds before central station would get notified or Envisalink sends you a SMS text, 30 seconds for entry delay before sirens sound plus another 30 seconds for burglar delay.

If you have central station monitoring, call them and put your system in test mode, then trip the alarm. Call them back and ask what event they received.
