SMS alarm for android /android alternati app "watch my home"

Post by alarmguywpg »

Feedback on Sms alart programs that will cause an alarm on your android phone even when in silent.

Also I have been testing the app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .app&hl=en
looks promising - its nice you can program your alarm code so you only need to press arm or disarm.

You could use eyezon and an email to SMS service for that. My DscServer app https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... oid.server for android will send an SMS if you run it as a dedicated hub/server on an activated android phone. It's for DSC panels rather than vista.

A one touch disarm seems a little risky to me but many apps including mine allow it. Most panels allow a no-pin arm.

Envisalink already sends a sms, I am just looking for a good app that turns that sms into a alarm, ignores the silent mode etc. They have some out there for firefighters , just seeing if anyone recommends a good one.

Did you have any luck finding a good app and getting it to work? I've tried a couple, but haven't got them to work quite right yet.

My trouble with all apps so far, is that I'm not able to filter on both the "sender" and a text string in the message "Alarm".

The sms comes into my handset, and the sender shows "noreply@eyez-on.com". The "SMS Alarm" app in the Android Play store, has a logging feature. It shows the sender as "9247 noreply@eyez-on.com", but I've not had success on filtering on that yet.

So far I've not been successful on getting the "sender" filter to work correctly, and on other applications I can only enter 1 keyword "Alarm".

I need something that will allow a filter on multiple keywords "event alarm" (I don't have my phone with me, so can't get the exact text in the Envisalink SMS, but it's similar.)

Anyways, did you get any app to work well? I'll often ignore a text message, but having the ability for my phone to alarm and flash the light would be great.

Thanks,
Jim

Update:
I got SMS Alarm to work. I'm not sure what I did, as I set it up identically as I did last time.

Primary SMS (Senders Telephone Number): 6245

Word Settings: alarm

Here is 3 text messages that I captured with the SMS Alarm log utility, notice how the eyez-on messages "From" has two entries 6245 <tab> noreply@eyez-on.com. Anyways, the above seem to be working, my phone will now beep very loudly until I cancel it, when a text is received from 6245 with the text containing "alarm".

I ended up using https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... mbox&hl=en
alarm box.

keyword: You have mail from noreply@connect2go.com (i use this because rogers cellular in canada makes me enter read to get a email to text message on sms)

I also have the pop up show my alarm panels html page so i can directly go to the status.

this one is a winner!!
:)

I guess I should have update this long ago!
