Hi,
I'm trying to link my DSC 1832 with envisalink 3 to my Hikvision CCTV NVR. The NVR has alarm input contacts and my idea is to have the NVR take a snapshot of all cameras as soon as my DSC alarm is triggered while armed, and email these snapshots to me.
Does the DSC or the Envisalink have dry contacts (Normally Open or Normally Closed) which I can use to detect if the panel is In Alarm?
Thanks again
Jacauc

Your alarm panel should have 2 PGM outputs but they have to be programmed. Another option is an RB5 relay or a PAM2 relay on the siren output.

Thanks Manowar,MANOWAR wrote:Your alarm panel should have 2 PGM outputs but they have to be programmed. Another option is an RB5 relay or a PAM2 relay on the siren output.
Where would I find more information on how to either program the PGM outputs, or how to wire the relay into the siren output?
Re: Alarm Output Dry Contacts
Thanks GMc, that's helpful...
Alternatively, how can I program the PGM outputs to do the same?

Re: Alarm Output Dry Contacts
jacauc,
I've never programmed a DSC panel before so I'm not sure of what zone types you have to work with. I have a Vista panel and I would have to research if there was a zone type that could be programmed to do what you want it to do.
I believe the easiest solution would be to install a relay like MANOWAR has already mentioned. Any alarm would energize the relay. Very simple and no programming needed.

Re: Alarm Output Dry Contacts
Just refer to the DSC Installers Manual or the Programming Worksheets. You can program a PGM to do almost anything including follow the siren.

Thanks GrandWizard,
I had a look at the manual before, but I'm not experienced enough to fully understand what and how.
Is there a specific DSC forum where I can go ask for help instead?
Thanks
Jacques
