Removing EVL3 from Vista 20p; restoring the GSM7845i

Post by user17600 »

Good evening folks.

I have a property that closes next week and I am taking the EVL3 with me. The system previously used a 7845i to communicate with the central station, but due to prices, went with the EVL and their central station.

I have looked at the forums and apparently there are few folks who remove the EVL after installing, which is a testament to the utility of the product.

I re-reviewed the install instructions (https://www.eyez-on.com/EZMAIN/evl3honeywell.php) but my question is this: is the de-install the reverse of the install?

I have my notes on the install of the EVL but apparently did not keep notes on how to re-activate the 7845. I am comfortable programming (I have a 6160 keypad).

Can anyone provide specific steps to remove the EVL, de-program the Vista 20p from the EVL, and programing to reactivate the 7845i?

(I realize that without monitoring service the 7845 will probably display the LRR error, but my intent is to get the system back to the function it had with the equipment I'm leaving behind)

Many thanks in advance.

For anyone who may later find this thread, I received an answer on the Honeywell forum here:
