Re: Firmware update trigger an alarm
Thank you very much for your research.
Unfortunalty, in my case the alarm wasn't armed. I was at home when this problem occurred suddenly @00:30
But I'll check those parameters of course !
Best regards
O.

I took a quick look at my DSC manual and found two instances where a system trouble could activate the bell output.....
1. Option 8 of Section 015. If this option is ON, the system activates the bell output if a telephone line trouble is detected while the system is armed.
2. Option 8 of Section 702. If this option is ON, the system activates the bell output if a Failure to Communicate trouble occurs while the system is armed.
The second one seems promising. Check your programming and turn the option off if it is enabled. Then wait for the next firmware update and keep your fingers crossed.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
Thank you for the info. I'll get back to the house in a few weeks. I'll check that and post an update here.
System was not armed. It occured at 00:47 German time. So around the same time as yours @olehir.
Trouble was:
2014-09-28 00:47:08 - Keybus Fault Restore
2014-09-28 00:47:08 - PC5400 Supervisory Restore
We had to enter a user code to restore the alarm.
@olehir
Which code did you get?
You can check it here (log in on envisalink site first):

Hi,
2014-09-28 00:32:31 - Keybus Fault Restore
2014-09-28 00:32:30 - PC5400 Supervisory Restore
2014-09-28 00:32:24 - Keybus Fault
It looks the same...
I see that you are living in Germany. Is your DSC system based on a EU version ? I've got a DSC PC1832 V4.2 EU
This version is NF2AP compliant (like VdS in Germany). NF2AP is a certification standard in France for security product. To match NF2AP needs, some points might by different from a regular DSC 1832 4.2 system (maybe in supervision system). But this information isn't public, I don't have the confirmation.
Kind regards,
O.

Re: Firmware update trigger an alarm
Hello,olehir wrote:Hello,
Tonight, I had the unpleasent surprise, at home with my family, the alarm occurs suddently.
I'm using an Envisalink 3 with a DSC 1832 (installed since a few months without issue)
I've tried to determinate the cause of this false alarm.
Checking the DSC event buffer during this interval, I've found the following result :
-PC5400 supervision trouble
-Keybus default
-PC5400 supervision restored
-Keybus fault restored
I've checked today's activities in the Eyez-on portal and I've read the following information :
Firmware Update - For EnvisaLink 3 and 2DS
Announcing the release of firmware 1.11.128 for all upgradeable versions of Envisalink. This firmware is being pushed out network wide.
It has reminded me that in November I had a similar issue on another installation (same configuration : Evisalink 3 with DSC 1832) : keybus issue, alarm triggered and... the day of the firmware upgrade.
A phone call later, bingo ! I had the confirmation this has occured today on this other installation too (1 h earlier) : the alarm raised for no reason.
Both installations are based on DSC PC1832 NFA2P V4.2 EU (NF2AP is a specific version for France)
This point is really an unnaceptable situation, a basic maintenance operation shouldn't generate such situation.
DSC + EnviLink 3 users, did you experiment the same issue today April 26th ?
Any idea of a workaround ?
Many thanks for your help,
Best regards,
Olivier
same problem here last night around 0:56 AM (France Time):
with DSC ( NFA2P ) and Evisalink 3
System was not armed, The alarm occurs suddently. ( it's not the first time ,it happens from time to time ,1time every 1-4 months I think)
DSC event buffer :
-PC5400 supervision trouble
-Keybus default
-PC5400 supervision restored
-Keybus fault restored
doing research on this problem I came across this post
olehir do you have the problem this night ?
there was an update tonight?
it does not happen often but it is very annoying
best regards , Stephane

Re: Firmware update trigger an alarm
thank you for confirming
So I think we found the problem,
this is not the bus but the Evisalink 3 ( maybe at upgrade time ?)
maybe with the NFA2P EU/FR DSC models ... if other models not have problems
I think that in emergency, a solution would at least be able to prevent the automatic updates
A manual upgrade option would be a good thing, for lack of better ?
Because like this , the alarm that wakes childrens in the night , It will not be possible

Same problem today !!!
At 16h19 ( french hour ) the alarm triggered :-/
new update ?
Have you thought about a possible option to disable the the automatic updates ?
It's really annoying !
Best regards , Stephane

Re: Firmware update trigger an alarm
You can't resolve the issue due to the fact there is no way to reboot and reflash the Envisalink in less than 10 seconds (very small supervisory window on EU models), but you can certainly turn that option off (which it is by default).
Turn option 5, in Section 019 (7th System Option) to OFF. This will stop the siren from sounding during a momentary keybus fault.
All European updates happen between 12:00 and 18:00 UTC hours so you will never have an update in the middle of the night.
This is probably the last update of the Envisalink for DSC users.

Re: Firmware update trigger an alarm
I had the same happen to me late last night...
Logged into EVL portal and saw an update was available. Clicked to update it and ten minutes later the alarm was sounding on the keypads... Very angry wife, woken baby.
What an absurd design to not have a confirmation or warning that clicking update could sound the alarm.
How can the alarm be prevented when updating? If the panel is put into engineer mode before updating would that do it?
