Envisalink 4 compatibility
Dear forum,
I tried to contact Envisalink correctly, but I didn't get any answer.
I have an older DSC Classic PC585h alarm and I would like to know if it is compatible with Envisalink 4?
From the dealer in our country I got answer that is not compatible, but maybe he doesn't want to help me/and to my good old alarm.
I found one web page, which is connecting a PC585 alarm with Envisalink 3. So maybe it is compatible?
http://www.mydigital-home.com/tinkering ... to-openhab
Any help is highly appreciated.

Re: Envisalink 4 compatibility
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but there was some confusion in tech-support as you used the term Classic in reference to the PC585. We had to ask DSC directly and the PC585 is not a Classic panel, it is a Power series panel and is therefore compatible with all versions of the Envisalink module.
Re: Envisalink 4 compatibility
Thank you for the fast answer.
The "Classic" is on the case of the alarm:
Here is the manual of the alarm (also references as Classic PC585):
(cable management is a it was not done by me)
http://cms.dsc.com/download2.php?t=1&id=12949
If Envisalink advertises itself as a PC5400 serial printer module, I think it is compatible, because I found references to this PC5400 in the manual.

Re: Envisalink 4 compatibility
It lookslike there is an another version of the PC585 (Powerseries):
http://www.dsc.com/index.php?n=enduser& ... eypad=1280
"PowerSeries 4-32 Zone Control Panel PC585
PC585"...
Maybe DSC confused the two alarm? But as I said if the Classic is compatible with PC5400 serial printer module, I don't see any reason why it won't work with Envisalink.

Re: Envisalink 4 compatibility
Two more info: the guy from the link above confirmed that he has exactly the same device Classic PC585 (but without "h" at the end). Second, a DSC dealer wrote me that PC585 at the end was sell as Power 432.
Hmmmmm....

Re: Envisalink 4 compatibility
DSC Tech Support told us this is a Power Series panel. I have no idea why it says Classic. The Classic has a completely different bus architecture than the new Power series. Marketing mix-up maybe?
Re: Envisalink 4 compatibility
I just want to confirm the PC585 compatibility, it works nicely.
But there is a bug on EyezOn website. I have set correct time in DSC alarm. On EyezOn website I choosed my Timezone (Europe/Budapest) + enabled Auto-Time Updates.
On device itself (EVL 4) I see the correct time in the left corner: 2017-04-22 15:00 - System Time
But on EyezOn website I see incorrect time: Last Update: April 22, 2017, 9:17 am + recent events are showing this time.
Can you help me with this?

Re: Envisalink 4 compatibility
Ahhh, yes. It's working now. Thank you very much.
Re: Envisalink 4 compatibility
Hmm, current status:
On the portal I see the correct time (last update + recent events), but on Envisalink itself the time is off by 3 hour
Envisalink:
2017-05-05 21:49 - System Time
Portal (correct time):
Last Update: May 6, 2017, 12:46 am
Auto time updates option is enabled.
Interesting.
