Synthetic Open/Close

Can someone explain the "Synthetic Open/Close" option under Manage Device/Plus Features?

Some archaic central monitoring stations (i.e. Alarm Relay) will charge customers extra if their panel transmits opening and closings reports to them. On Honeywell systems there is no way to have O/C reports sent to Eyezon without going to the central station as well. Synthetic O/Cs are away around paying the extra charge by having the Envisalink create the event based on partition state, instead of having the actual panel transmit it as a signal (event).

This only applies to Honeywell users, DSC panels don't have this limitation.

I have alam relay for my central station. I transmit all events, including open/close with no additional fees.

I also have cellular interactive with them and I set up text messages for every event, including open and closings.

Oh that's good to hear. We have pushed them for years to drop that ridiculous fee, I guess it worked.
