Installation and programming went without a hitch. Thanks for the help everyone. I wired it as manowar suggested and chose zone type 8, and normally-open with a 1k ohm resistor in parallel (The 4219 zone expander schematic said 1k ohm). I'm beginning to think I may actually understand what i'm doing
The only drawback I found is when the backup sump pump is triggered, you can't clear the fault and re-arm the system without resetting the backup sump pump downstairs...a problem for when the wife wants to arm the system but is too lazy to go downstairs

(fyi, the sump alarm trips for maintenance reasons too). I got around that by programming a macro key on the keypad to bypass the backup sump pump. I think I'd rather set up this zone as a vent zone, but I need to read up on that still.
So everything is working great, I just have one more question to help me understand how these systems work. The question is about when to choose series or parallel wiring for the EOLR. My first thought was you wire your N.O. sensors with the EOLR in parallel, and your N.C. sensors with the EOLR in series, so there is always a closed circuit with a load in the "untriggered" state. However someone stated above they do their N.C. sensors with the EOLR in parallel. Can someone explain or point me where to get the answer to this question? Thanks.
