Rich,
Thanks for not forgetting about me.
Unfortunately I don't have a static IP. My D-Link router has a built-in DDNS client for their free DDNS service. It gets the new IP address after a power fail reboot but not after my DSL modem’s IP address simply changes (which AT&T does occasionally).
Of course, my 2DS handles any IP address change without skipping a beat and my EyezOn portal always works (BTW, it would be very handy if the EyezOn portal displayed my current IP address on the status page).
Here's a suggestion how you could do universal camera configuration: Use an asterisk (*) as wildcard that EyezOn replaces with my current IP address. That would also eliminate the need to say if cameras are "External" or "Internal" (using the asterisk denotes "Internal"). The user would be free to put anything before and after the asterisk:
External = http://10.10.10.10:8080 or https://10.10.10.10:8080
Internal = http://*:8080 or https://*:8080
Since I'm on a suggestion binge, here's another one - Last night I had a problem that others may also have - A garage door was left open all night.
When I’m away from my vacation home, I love your “followers” feature. I have sensors on 3 gates, 2 garage doors and 3 utility areas, but when I'm at that house, I turn off most of the followers.
My suggestion is a “Left Open” feature, where zones are configured like follower zones, but they don’t send open/close alerts. Zones configured for “Left Open” would only send an alert when left open beyond a set time limit (one hour?).
