getting TPI alert update without opening port 4025?

HI,
I am currently trying to create my own little program for alert notification and virtual keypad using the TPI, but TPI required to open port 4025 if I am accessing it from outside my home network. I notice eyez-on's alert service doesnt use port 4025, and it looks like the EnvisaLink board automatically sends out the alert to alert server if one exist.

I am wondering if its possible to achieve this on my own?

thanks.

And I wouldn't open port 4025 if I were you - it leaves you vulnerable to a dictionary attack against your envisalink card to determine the user password, then an automated attack to figure out your alarm pin. Or if you were to access the alarm from a remote location over an open wifi connection it's easy to snoop both - the data is not encrypted.
