IP100D Installation

Post by rmrg »

Hi,
I'm very interested in buying an IP100D card to connect it to my current alarm system.
Just want to be 100% sure that it will work with it and how to connect it.
I have a PowerSeries 4 Zone control panel PC585 (picture attached).
Checking the installation guide, the cables that are connected to the Panel are RED, BLK, YEL, GRN.
But in the panel I cant find all of them, I only find YEL y GRN, but dont fine RED and BLK, where are they?
My panel has the following connectors:
AC, AUX, BELL, KEYPAD-YRL, KEYPAD-GRN, PGM 1, PGM 2, Z1, COM, Z2, Z3, COM, Z4, RNG, TIP, R-1, T-1, EGND

Also what are the steps to install the IP100D?
1.- Disconect the energy?
2.- ????
3.- ????

Please advice,
Thank you.

Hi there, on the smaller and older DSC panels they sometimes omit the RED/BLACK terminals to save money. These are just the same as AUX+(Red) and AUX-(Black) so use these instead.

As for module installation, follow the procedure in your panel "Installers Guide". In general, power-down the whole system, including removing your battery, install the new module, restore power and battery. Within 2 minutes all the modules (keypads, IP100D etc.) will be recognised and that's it. You will have lost your panel time in this procedure so you will have to reprogram your time to clear the "trouble".

I hope that helps
