Mobile site layout and virtual keyboard?

Really happy with my Envisalink 3 and DSC system.

Just curious:

Is there is a reason that 'Away Arm' and 'Stay Arm' buttons are located at bottom of page? These are the buttons I use most often and I have to scroll down on my iPhone 5 to access these buttons. Does this happen with other mobile devices? Don't most users arm without a code?

Also, when I click the 'Disarm' button, the full keyboard comes up on iOS 7 but I only need numbers. I've come across other mobile sites with forms that bring up just the numeric keyboard. Do some systems have non-numeric disarm codes that require the full keyboard? Is this so the site is compatible with all mobile browsers/devices?

Thanks.

I agree with both of these suggestions - I have wondered the same thing. It would make much more sense to put the away / stay arm buttons at the top of the list and designate the keyboard as numeric keypad only when entering alarm code.

Using the following input type for the form should display the numeric keypad when the specific form has focus.

Code: Select all

<input type=tel>
