new setup, ip troubles

Post by tfudali »

I contacted my network provider to open a port so i could access the evl-3. my provider said my IP address must be 192.168.20.XXX. In the programming of the evl-3 i am only able to change 192.168.0.XXX. so i can't talk to it. any suggestions?

You don't have to open a port to communicate with the Envisalink. There is no setup required on your router.

This morning I tried logging in and it connected, I was able to arm and disarm the system. I never changed anything since yesturday, and yesterday it didn't work. I don't know what's going on. the only alerts that I get via text or email is network faults even though arm and disarm are checked.

If you're a Honeywell user you probably didn't program your panel to send those events are per the programming manual. The Envisalink can only alert you to events that are transmitted by the panel. If you haven't programmed your panel to generate events, like opening and closing, then how can the Envisalink report them to you?
