I am going to purchase the EVL-3 for my current DSC 1616 alarm system. Before I do that I have few questions about the product and hoping anybody can help me out. Once the unit is installed how do I determine what zone is what when I setup the system through the web?

If I decide to go with EnvisAlarmâ„¢ Service for an extra of $8.50 a month and if the alarm is triggered what happens next? Do they call the local police where your located, for instance I live in Canada/ottawa. I looked at their website and this is what it says

At EyezOn when your alarm is triggered, the alarm signal will be transmitted to a ULC Listed Monitoring Station. Upon receiving the alarm signal, the trained alarm operators will immediately initiate our comprehensive Protection Process.

What does comprehensive Protection Process mean? When they monitor your system are they just looking at your portal to see if any zones are triggered? I saw somewhere that the monitor company is CML Security is it?

Thank you

Your zones are programmed into the panel, you should have a list of what the zones are when the panel was programmed. This is the same list that your alarm company has. If you have an Alphanumeric keypad you can look them up, or call your installer and ask.

Like any other monitored system, if your system is tripped, the alarm company calls the appropriate agency to respond (Police, Fire, EMS).

No one can access your portal except you. Any monitoring service only has access to what the panel sends to them. Example, if your front door is opened when the system is armed, the systems sends the appropriate burglary code along with the zone # that was tripped. In this case they know the front door is tripped because you told them what the zone # for it is. Comprehensive Protection Process is just a feel good phrase for the monitoring service.
