Envisalink 3 - control 2 Vista 20p panels ?

Post by chargernut69 »

Hello,

So I stumbled across this cool stuff about controlling my Ademco 20p alarms using the Envisalink & wow, it sounds like a great idea -- but a few questions.......

Right now, I currently have 2 Ademco Vista 20p alarm panels that I am using at my home, one for the main house and a 2nd one for the detached garage. Then I am using 2 4204 relay modules to connect a Visalink DL-2C dialer to dial the phone line. Then when each panel alarm triggers, it sets off the dialer to call my cell phone using my VOIP connection (U-Verse).

So how would I control both panels ? would I need 2 Envisalink-3 boards connected to my home computer ? could this work ?

Also, can the Android app support the 2 boards ?

Any help appreciated -- thanks.

First off, the Envisalink-3 board does NOT connect to your home computer. It will need to be connected to your 20P motherboard data bus just like your alarm system keypads are connected. If you search around, there are install instructions and programing specific to the Honeywell alarm systems.

To monitor/control two 20P's, I'm pretty sure you will need to purchase and install two Envisalink-3 boards, one for each alarm.

The only Android app that I'm aware of is "Watch My Home". I don't believe it will handle more than one alarm system, without changing the IP addresses between the two Envisalink-3 boards. However, Eyez-on would provide a URL for each of your systems and then you could setup a separate widget for each system that would open a browser to each system. Or use the app for one and browser for the other.

You would need two Envisalink modules.

Another option would be to use a single Vista 20p and set up two partitions. This would allow you to use a single Envisalink module. Depending on how many zones are needed, you may need an additional 4219 or 4229 expansion module.
