EYEZ-ON EVL-3 and DC PowerSeries PC1832 Keypad PK5501 Ques

I just bought and installed the EYEZ-ON EVL-3 and started the monitoring with Envisalarm.
The install was easy and I now cancelled both my regular monitoring and my telephone line, since the only reason I had a telephone line was for the alarm system.
Even though I can arm/disarm the system and can see the zones just fine my alarm keypad shows the caution sign and online it shows trouble in orange and shows telephone line trouble. Since I no longer have a phone line how can I get rid of this error message? I disconnected the telephone wire from the panel but it still shows the orange caution sign on the keypad and telephone trouble online.
Another questions, I would like to switch out the PK5501 keypad with the touchscreen PTK5507. Is this something I can do myself or will it require programming? I cannot find anyone to switch this out for me since I am not having the monitoring with them.
Thanks for all the help.

Hi damavr,
You need to turn off the TLM (Telephone Line Monitoring) option on your panel.
If you have the Installer Code and are fairly comfortable navigating through the programming, you need to turn off option #7 in Section 015.

Thanks Hashtag:
Unfortunately I do not have my installer code and they changed the default one. I called them this morning and they do not want to give me the code, they can come to the house and "unlock" the panel and put in a new code for $50. I guess I can have no choice than paying the $50 bucks.

That's pretty standard. You're lucky they will even do it, some won't even change the code out of spite.

Hi damavr,
I haven't personally installed one of these puppies, but it should be pretty straightforward. It utilizes the same 4 wires (green, yellow, black, red) as your current PK5501. The terminals are labeled pretty clearly so it's a no-brainer. If you're lucky the mounting holes on the backplate will match the ones for your current keypad. Just make sure to follow the instructions provided to you with the product. Power down the panel (AC and battery) before you start .. etc ...etc.
If you're a little hesitant, purchase the keypad and ask your alarm company if their installer can make the swap while they are "unlocking" your panel. Changing the Installer Code takes seconds, so if you're paying $50 make it worth it.
Cheers.

Thanks for the reply,
I did ask the alarm company to install it and they said they would not install it unless i get the unit from them. I was prepared to do that but they want $400 for it when I can buy it online for $185. I understand that the have to make some money but 116% is crazy, if is was like $250 I would have said ok but $400 is a total rip off.

Installed the panel, the four wires as you indicated, it was very easy, everything works great and so much easy to do programming when you can see what you are doing instead of listening to beeps.

Glad to hear it went well.
I agree - full message keypads are great for programming your system. What do you think of the new PTK5507 ?

I like the panel a lot, especially compared to the PK5501.
Clear screen with icons, I customized the background by putting the kids picture, you can put pictures on an SD card and can display them through the new keypad.
The biggest plus however is how easy programming can be done with this panel versus the old one.
Overall satisfied customer, I am debating in changing my other PK5501 with the PTK5507, may i will do that for Christmas.
