I know this is a bit off-topic, but I just installed an EnvisaLink and could use some assistance configuring my panel.

I've got a Vista 15p with two 4219's exp modules, and would like to add a new zone for my Basement Watchdog Backup Sump Pump. On the pump, I've got I've got terminals for normally-open or normally-closed wiring.

-What zone programming settings should I use? Same as a fire alarm?
-How do I configure it to be active regard of whether the system is armed or disarmed? (Is that function automatic with my sensor type choice?)
-Do I need an EOL resistor, what value? 1/4Watt?
-Wire it N.O. or N.C?
etc.

I would wire it up normally open with the resistor in parallel. Zone type I would use type 08 24hr aux. It will be always active whether armed or not and the EOL resistor should be on the 4219 if you have an open zone. I think they are 10k but not positive.

Search for ademco 15p instalation guide and you will find a pdf with all the connection and programing information you need. I personally use N.C. contacts with the rsistors connected in parallel at the alarm board, but the instalation guide will show all the options.

There's one thing you need to be aware of to make this sump pump zone to alert you even when the system is not armed. Use eyez-on zone following and make the new zone a partition 2 zone.

I'm doing neither of these things and my sump pump zone alerts me just fine via the EVL3 whether or not the alarm is armed.

Same here. No special setup to monitor a garage refrigerator power outlet monitor that is connected to a GFCI outlet that has tendency to nuisance trip.

I configured it as a Zone type 12 (Monitor Zone) on my single partition Vista 20P. EVL-3 sends me a text if power is lost, either way with alarm being set or not. I am monitored via a central station and they have been instructed to not call if that zone trips.

Zone type 8 will set off keypad beeping sound but not siren
Zone type 12 keypad beeping does not occur and no siren. The system keypad will display a “check” message indicating the appropriate zone

Zone Type 12:
• Works as a dynamic monitor of a zone fault/trouble (not alarm). In the case of a short/open, the
message, "*ALARM*-24 Hr. Non-Burg. -#XXX " (where XXX is the zone number) will be sent
to the Central Station. The system keypad will display a “check” message indicating the
appropriate zone (but keypad beeping does not occur). Upon restoral of the zone, the message,
"*RESTORE*-24 Hr. Non-Burg. -#XXX " will be sent to the Central Station.
• The “check” message will automatically disappear from the keypad dynamically, when the
zone restores; a user code + off sequence is not needed to reset the zone.
• Faults of this zone type are independent of the system, and can exist at the time of arming
without interference.
• Since this is a “trouble” zone type, do not use this zone type with relays set to activate upon
“alarm.”


Type 08 24-hour Auxiliary Alarm
• Assign to a zone containing an emergency button, or to a zone containing monitoring devices
such as water or temperature sensors.
• Sends a report to the central station and provides an alarm sound at the keypad. (No bell
output is provided.)

That is strange, because type 12 zones do not report on zone following when my alarm is armed. I have a really old version of the 20p. So old that the total connect will not work. I'm guessing that later versions maybe fixed this issue.

As I stated my Refrigerator monitor zone is set up as a Zone Type 12. To verify, I just armed my alarm in AWAY mode then tripped the power to the refrigerator outlet, reset the power to the refrigerator then disarmed the alarm. Below is the sequence of texts I just received.

After the refrigerator power was tripped there was no keypad noise, no siren and Central Station did not call. Envisalink and my AlarmRelay/CBAT both just sent the similar texts. A Check 13 REFRIGERATOR POWER displays on the "silent" Keypads.

What is the report code suppose to be for zone type 12?

I am having a problem getting the text that is sent to me
to read "door bell" like it is displayed on the 6160 keypad.

The text only says Security Event: Zone xx Alarm

Thanks for the quick response.

I guess I forgot that I entered the other zone names manually into
Envisalink when I installed the system over a year ago.

I only added my door bell to my system recently.
