Communication Issues

I have the eyez-on3 connected to a Vista 20P which should not be programmed (to my knowledge unless I altered something recently) to communicate with a dial up service. Unfortunately, since installing the Eyez-on3 yesterday I continue to receive a Comm Failure and feel Ive done my best to follow the install directions on more then one occasion. The led's on the device are functioning properly per the instructions.

Under contacts for receiving sms texts - all boxes are checked and contact has been verified. However - I am only receiving openings and closings. Not any alarms. Though when I select a zone to follow, the Eyez-on 3 does send me a text.

On my account page - Appears that the Eyez-on3 is transmitting openings and closings to the events page - but not any alarms.

When I place a request to arm or disarm from my account page. The command queue reflects my request - but disappears after approx a minute and panel is not accepting my request.

I suspect I am struggling with properly programming my 20P...though have followed the instructions and made numerous attempts.

Any advice would be warmly welcomed. Thank you!

Submit a tech support request and we can help you figure out the programming issue. The issue with the commands not being accepted means that you have a keypad conflict. There is another keypad on your system programmed to the same address (default 18) as the Envisalink,

Yeap - I filed a tech report and followed the instructions they provided for me. All set now! Thanks!

For the benefit of others who might come after you and experiencing the same issue, do you know what was the cause of your issue? Was it a keypad address conflict? Is there something in the instructions that could be added to avoid such issues for a new purchaser of the EnvisaLink 3?

Yes - one of my issues was the keypad address. I changed one of my 6160 keypads to a different address and set up the Eyez-on as keypad #18.

The instructions which were provided to me from filing a tech report I feel were definitely more thorough in detail. However - the instructions provided by the technician I feel could be enhanced more. Ex: Under EVL2 only communicator Item #13. Instructions state that *66 should be programmed as follows. 111100 and you will get 3 beeps. What is not stated is that 111100 is the correct program when two partitions are programed. I believe that 110000 would be the proper programming when only one partition is programmed into the panel.

Numerous other issues I noticed...but don't have the time to reread the instructions.

I do feel that the company should work on their documentation to help the user install and program their equipment, which should end up with fewer requests for tech support.
