Is it possible to program a new Vista 21IP panel with the EVL-4 if I have the Compass Downloader software?
If not, do you guys know my best options for getting my panel programmed to my preferences?
Thanks!
Can't wait for my EVL-4 to arrive!

Where/how did you get the downloader software?

The software is VERY easy to find and download on the internet.
Here is some info on what you will need to use it:
http://lukeskaff.com/?p=800
Scroll down to section 2.1 and you will find 2 links, they will both take you to this:

I have several versions, but do not have the modem yet. Once you install the software you will see a drop down with a big list of modems to choose from, so you might want to do that before you try to get one of the modems listed on Luke's page.

Ok, so no the alarm panel cannot be programmed via the EVL-4, but nobody answered me about the best option for programming my Vista 21ip.
If I pay for the envisalarms service, can I then get somebody to program my panel, or do I have to have this done before signing up?

Program it from your keypad like all security systems. That is the cheapest way and relatively easy.
And the the answer to your question is no, if you sign-up for Enivsalarms nobody will come to your house to program your panel. The reason Envisalarms is so inexpensive is that it is a DIY service which means you are responsible for the operation, and programming, of your security system.
