Router or wifi extender

I am new here and want to purchase the Evanslink 4 and attach to my DSC PC5010. My router/wifi is down stairs and alarm panel is upstairs but I have a wifi extender upstairs. Am I able to attach the RJ45 to the extender? Other option is to move my Router upstairs.

Yes. Either approach should work. Consider reliability and try to eliminate the wifi link between the EVL and the Internet, if possible.
