EnvisaLink 3 / Arris DG860 Connectivity Issue

Post by ssindigital »

Hello,

I've recently installed a security system at my home in hopes to self-monitor (Vista 20 & EnvisaLink 3 Honeywell) although I've had no success with getting my Arris DG860 router to talk to the EnvisaLink 3.

I've already ruled out the possibility of the card being faulty (took the card to another person's home who also had the same system installed and the card worked perfectly with their network setup), the cable is good (tested accordingly with a laptop w/ wifi disabled) which has led me to believe that it is a configuration/compatibility issue with the router.

Has anyone had success with getting an EnvisaLink 3 to talk to an Arris DG860 (or comparable) router and what was needed, if anything, in order for the two to play nice? Unfortunately I only know enough to be dangerous with networking configurations and I have checked out the router configuration but I don't see anything that jumps out as being the root of the cause of the problem.

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to assist in getting me up and running! :)

It is probably a firewall issue. Go into your router and see if you can turn off your firewall settings entirely to make sure this is the issue. Also, that router has a "Trusted MAC" feature. You could enter your Envisalink's MAC address in there an reboot the router.

Perfect, thanks! We'll give that a go and hopefully that's all there is to it.

Thanks again!
