If I have an existing alarm dsc or honeywell panel that was installed by ADT ( or other similar service) and I decide to leave them and do my own monitoring would the module be compatible ?
I think these companies modify,or replace the standard ( dsc ) firmware with their own versions.


Would the Envisalink board work anyway or it only works with the original firmware.
I know that certain options settings would have to be reset

The "branded" versions are essentially the same with some options locked-down. They are still compatible.

If the panel is a Honeywell panel you will need the Installer Code to make any changes to your panel. Your monitoring company will not give this to you but they may reset it for you for a fee.
