I've been having a problem connecting to the Envisalink 3 via a putty raw session. I switched to putty because I wasn't getting anywhere with Java. I had a 6 character password set and was able to login to the local web page. I decided to change the password back to the default "user" and was able to get the 5051 response. I then thought that maybe the documentation was saying password, but it was really the username, so I changed the password to abcd and tried to login in with 'user' and was back to the 5050 response. I tried the 'abcd' password and also got the 5050 response. I changed again back to the 'user' password and could not login again. Is there something that 'hangs on' to the previous password? The web page did show the client connection the one time that I was able to connect but nothing since.
I'd appreciate any kind of feedback or comments that might help me understand the interaction between the Envisalink 3 and the client.
