so i got my 2ds today, hooked it up and all is ok...

1) since you have a http server in the unit (2ds), is there a possibilty that there will be a method to access the complete configursation of the dsc unit through the 2ds web page?

2) will you allow direct email from the 2ds unit or will it always have to use your smtp smarthosts?, i am hoping that we can have that as a configuarbe option right on board the 2ds.... allows us the users to maybe become our own "central" :)

I like this unit and would love to sell it to many of the people I know, but at the same time if we could have more fetures on the unit, to allow us to modify the dsc unit tottaly with out having to use other software, this would be awesome......

is this possible or do we have to go to another product???? :)

Hi, I'm glad you really like the product.

In response:

1) I assume you mean panel programming. Not really, there are a lot of technical reasons why this can't be done. The closest thing to what you describe is called DLS. You can obtain this software from DSC.

2) Email alerts orginate at the alerting servers, not the Envisalink. They are not SMTP smarthosts. There are no plans (nor the code space) to have the Envisalink generate email alerts directly.

Go to another product? There is no other product on the market with as many features as the Envisalink. Why go anywhere else? :D

hmmm so the key here is really the server..... as it understands all the codes and it does all the work...

ok here are a few questions for y..
1) on the 2ds will u make a configurable ipstack? i would like to manually config the system with out using bootp or dhcp.
2) will the Envisalerts Server ip/name ever be configurable?

this leads me to the final question.
3) will you release a server version of the software? even toned down , say to only let 20 or 30 connections..... :D
