Zone Follower Text Question
My System DSC 1832, Currently I recieve a text message on an alarm. When the system is not armed I dont get a text when Zone 1 (Fire) is tripped. I dont want a buch of status texts. Can I select only zone 1 as a zone follwer? to get a text whenever Zone 1 faults wheather armed or not ? Thanks

Yes, if you have a '2DS. What you want is called a Zone Follower and you can enable each zone individually.
From your '2DS details page you should see a link underneath your zone grid called "Manage Zone Followers". There you will see a series of check boxes. Check the zone that you wish to "follow" (do not check them all as this will flood you with a tonne of traffic!).
Now your '2DS will report changes to that zone in your event log. If you also want to be notified make sure that your contact has this option enabled.
manage contacts->"pick the contact"->assign devices->modify->Check "Zone Followers"
Just as an aside, most people set their fire zones to 24 hour supervisory zones so that your alarm will go off regardless of whether the panel is armed or not. Refer to your 1832 Programming worksheets for more information.
