Mobile App

Post by ksharf »

Hello,

Are their any plans in the pipeline to make available a native Android or iOS application for the EVL4 module. Whilst the mobile html version does its job, it would be preferable to use native app notifications instead of relying on the SMS / EMAIL gateways.

We already have a mobile application, it is the Mobile Portal. The mobile portal is an actual web-app that runs on your phone. It is much easier to maintain and update than having to download it from the "app store" and doing periodic updates. The elimination of issues of portability across platforms and versions is another benefit of using a web-app over a native app.

Our future plans are for increased inter-working with other hardware and software platforms to continue to be the leader in providing open-access to professional security alarms systems for the DIY consumer.

I would say that allSecure works ok, the app works fine on LAN, sometimes it has a delay or give some time outs messages while being used on WAN but it's mostly ok.

I guess the developers could improve the app but they don't bother so basically what you get with the app is Arm, Arm stay and disarm functions and the zones status.

I just got my envis4 set up and came across an app on the google play store called Envisualize. The screenshots look nice but i'm not sure if its safe to use as there are no reviews.Has anyone tried it? Are these 3rd party apps as safe as using the web portal?

The Google Play Store page for Envisualize says "This is an unreleased app. It may be unstable." That sounds like asking for trouble, if you ask me.
