Trouble - Bell Circuit

Post by cheeseguy »

Hi everyone,

I'm new at all of this. I have a DSC 1050 and bought an envisalink 4 - its been sitting in my basement connected but mostly unused because I can't get past this recurring problem: "Trouble - service request: Bell Circuit". I've pulled out the siren and bell line. In the context of TCP/IP notifications a working phone link doesn't make any sense to me.

Can someone give me a hint on how to eliminate this error? I have the installer/master codes but everything I try doesn't make much difference...

Thanks!

That means you have a problem with your Bell (siren). You need to either install a siren or install a 1K resistor across the terminals.

I removed the siren so I wouldn't wake up everyone during my late-night tinkering. I don't see much purpose for it, honestly. I guess I'll have to get some 1K resistors!

Thanks for your quick reply, GrandWizard!

You don't want to be awakened if somebody sets off the alarm, breaking in at night, or if your fire/smoke goes off?
