No installer code - Can EVL4/CG dump existing program?

Hi,

I have a DSC Power 832 (5010) based alarm system and I'd like to add an EVL4/CG to the system. I do not have the installer code (but I do have the master code and physical access to the panel), so I was wondering if it was possible to dump the existing program using the EVL4/CG (assuming the auxiliary keypad default works and I can get the EVL4/CG properly installed with no code) and then try to reset the board to default and reprogram the system using the dumped program. I did contact the previous owner's installer and he indicated that he didn't have the code, so that doesn't seem like a viable option to recover the code.

I'm guessing this isn't possible, but I wanted to ask just in case.

Thanks!

No, the installer code is required for all programming and downloading.

Did you try all of the standard codes? Did you Google default codes?

Defaulting the panel and reprogramming might only take you 30 minutes if you have everyting ready BTW.

Thanks for the reply, I was expecting that answer but always hopeful for the "easy" solution.

I did try googling default codes and came up with a few things (5010, 5555, 8888, 1555, 5020) and I've tried some of the basics (last 4 of the alarm installer's phone number, last 4 of the board serial, 4x each digit, etc), but so far none have worked as the installer code. I did also find a youtube video about grounding out pin 4 on the biggest IC on the board to bypass the installer code, which I might try as well.

I'm sure a skilled alarm programmer could re-program it reasonably quickly, but this would be my first time and I'd like to review the existing program to see what zones were set up as instant alarm / away vs. stay -- things that are probably obvious or second nature to people with experience but I'd hate to miss something as a newbie.
