Can't maintain an IP Address

Hello All,
I just installed my 2DS but have been unable to get it to work. The lights indicate I don't have an IP address, but all other lights are good.
I thought it might be the cable so I unplugged it from the device, plugged the cable into my laptop and disabled the wireless. The computer was able to connect to the internet.
I did check my router and at one time it at least recognized my 2DS because there is an Envisalink present with an IP address. However the status is off and I can't get it to come on.
I'd appreciate any help I can get. Looking forward to using this on my new DSC PC1832.
