Hi there,
Has anyone ever tested the Airsight (by X10) IP camera's? These camera's look exactly like the Foscam ones... lol. Are they the same camera, just brand labelled?
Here is the link.

Those cameras are all pretty much the same but there are subtle variations.
- different firmware, I call them the green vs the blue and once you see both you'll see why
- different ir filters, if the grass looks red during the day it doesn't have a filter on the lens and will see better at night
- home switch, some have a switch for the home position, some just slam to the limits at boot and then backtrack half way
- i/o port some have an external header with one in one out controllable via software
- some use the output bit to turn on the i/r leds, some rely simply on a photocell
- some have the wifi antenna some don't
- some have bidirectional sound, some don't
- some have a crazy default of 192.168.0.99:99 and some default to dhcp and port 80
- some actually stick on the dhcp address they are assigned and do renewals properly, some you have to reserve an ip for the mac in dhcp or set a static ip or they jump around every time the lease runs out (bad t/2 renew implementation in the dhcp client)
- some have white led's some have green some have red. depends what was cheap that day I guess.
overall for just moving it around under control of other software like zoneminder, and for streaming or capturing frames they are identical, I have yet to see one that doesn't work with the "foscam clone" template I made.
