Server offline

Post by bagofnuts »

Hi - My EVL3 no longer connects to the server. Local access remains. I havent changed anything short of changing my router about 30 days ago to a google mesh wifi. It did work normally up until a few days ago.
Envisalerts Server 198.61.170.85(E)
From what i could find having (E) means a dns issue but i have bypassed my Pihole and set it to googles public dsn and my isp's but nothing works.
Tried many a reboots of everything including the teg448ws switch (and trying its spare).
Bought a EVL4 and it does the same thing....
In any case when you reboot the units they will connect back to the servers and show online. If there was a command queued up they will arm... but thats about it they will disconnect and go offline right after.

You have a firewall issue. That IP is a valid IP for one of the reporting servers but something is blocking the communication between it and the server.

(E) does indeed mean that the IP is "estimated" but it is correct. So the device cannot talk to the server nor your DNS server. Both services use UDP so that might give you somewhere to start.

Is there a fix for this? I'm in the same boat.

(EDIT FOR FIX) Short the reset pins because the google wifi uses a 192.168.68.1 - 240 address system, and that's probably different form whatever router you are replacing.
