ADT Safewatch Pro 2000/ vista 20 se + Envisalink 3

Post by mrcarter »

Hi i just purchased an EL 3. I have the above alarm and have the EL connected correctly and i can get into the unit on my local network.

I cannot find keypad address' on my vista 20 se, and was hoping for a little hand holding. The manual says the unit only has 4 key pad addresses. I get into programing code ok with the IC, and the keypad shows 20. When i type in # and 191 on the alpha keypad to see what is stored in 191, it reads 04. It shows the same for 192, 193, and 194.

I have the Installer Manual for the unit but it does not state what the keypad addresses are, unlike the manual for the 20p.

I was wondering if someone could lend a hand.

Many thanks,

C

The Envisalink 3 does not currently support the older "SE" versions of Vista panels. There is a plan to support them in the future but there is no timeline.

May I ask if support for ADT Safewatch Pro 2000/ vista 20 se has been added?

Can I assume that similar to the addressable touchpads I can set Envisalink 3 unit to the non-addressable mode by using address 31?

Nope. No SE panels are supported and they will not be supported in the future. Grab $60 and buy a Vista 10P, you will be much happier.

I actually inherited a (former ADT) system in my house with a mix of RF /wired sensors installed on every window and door. The system is completely ‘full’, 25 RF sensors and also one wired zone - replacing it will require programming all RF zones and probably replacing some of the older keypads/RF module.

- Is there any older version of Envisalink board that supports Vista 20SE (SA20ADT) board?

- I assume, keeping the old system and using adress 31 as for keyboard will also not work with the Envisalink, right?

I would be more than happy to follow you recommendation and retrofit the panel, however, because of the number of installed sensors, new programming will be plenty of work.

Could you confirm that there is no older version of Envisalink board that supports Vista 20SE (SA20ADT) board and using adress 31 will not work?

No, the Envisalink never supported the SE panels. The reason I have been told is that the SE used a completely different protocol than the newer ECP protocol and that is why they aren't supported. You can still get alerts with an SE panel, you just can't arm/disarm the panel.

Thank you – this is great to know!

Basically, I will be able to use your portal to monitor the status!

I also have an SE panel and reporting status is all I need. Did you have any luck?
The Vista-20SE manual states that after enabling LRR the messages in "Contact ID" format are sent to the phone line and the key bus.
The LRR should be programmed for device address 3 on the key lines.
