How do I configure Syslog?

I'm trying to configure the Syslog client feature on my EVL4.
It's on the same network as my syslog server (which I've confirmed is correctly listening on tcp/514 and udp/514 and logging to disk, as it does for other network traffic)
I've configured the correct Syslog Server IP and have set Facility = 16 in my EVL4's web interface. I've also rebooted the module.
No matter what I do, I see zero traffic on the syslog server IP coming from the EVL4. I've been running tcpdump for over an hour listening for any traffic on any port from the module, but it has not sent anything to the syslog server IP.
Is there anything special I need to do to get syslog support working?
