Time Synchronization on DSC

Hi All,
Sort a newbie question.
My configuration: DUO, DSC P1832, 4 LCD PK5500 Keypads.
Installation and configuration went very smoothly. Note, I did not set the time and date on the panel after power up. The keypads displayed blank time and date.
I did change Installer/Master/User codes.
Next morning the date and time were set to correct values.

I can only assume the DUO set the time and date as I now see in section "6.4.6.6. Auto-Time Updates (DSC Only)" of user manual.
It is my understanding that the time and dates can only be set on the DSC panel/keyboard using the master code.

Is the DUO recording the master code as it was entered on the keypad using the Keybus that it is connected to?
If this is the case it would be a possible security concern.
Can anyone explain how Auto-Time works?

No, DSC systems do not require the the master code to change the time on the panel.

Yes, you are correct in that you need to enter the master code to access user code programming (*6), but the panel itself does not require this to change the time. See the TPI document as an example of how many home automation systems control the time on the panel.

EYEZON DOES NOT STORE ANY USER CODES NOR MASTER CODES AND NEVER WILL. PERIOD.

Thanks for reply.
Now I'm curious, but can't find that info on internet.
Can you please point me to the TPI document you are referring to.
