Network supervision fault messages (EVL4 firmware?)

I have an EVL4 + Sidekick LTE (with subscription) on a DSC panel.
When there is an IP connection problem (ISP outage), why do I sometimes get "Network Supervision fault" and other times I get "IP Connection Down, LTE Backup Engaged" as alerts?
I would have thought now that I have the sidekick I'd be getting only "IP Connection Down, LTE Backup Engaged" messages.
Does this have anything to do with EVL4 firmware updates? I got the .208 in the last few days. The firmware change log thread for the EVL4 hasn't been updated since January 2023 with the .204 update.
I also had a 45 minute IP outage a few days ago. I received NO notifications and there is nothing in the activity logs on the EyezOn portal -- I've opened up a support ticket about that.
