if i ask a contractor to install envisalink to my vista so i can circumvent telus and get alerts directly, is there a risk that they could also get alerts by fwding to a rogue email and use the info to break in? hope i dont sound paranoid.

Only the contacts you create on your Eyezon account will receive alerts. You control that.

What you can't control if you go with a company like Telus (ADT), is that they control your panel and they will also get all of the signals generated by your panel over the phone line.
